Borno:IBDFM Inducts Members, UNIMAID Made The Top List

As part of its membership drive, the Institute of Business Diplomacy and Financial Management has taken its programme to northeast after Lagos and Port Harcourt.

The Institute’s training and induction were slated for Borno, Gombe and Adamawa states, with Borno state as first on the list

Preparatory to the induction scheduled for Saturday, some Governing Council Members and Distinguished Fellows of the Institute of Business Diplomacy and Financial Management (IBDFM) have on Friday, November 9, 2018 paid a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor, University of Maiduguri, Professor I. A. Njodi at his office located at the newly commissioned Senate Building in the University.

Although the President and Chairman of Council of the Institute, Professor Ayuba A. Aminu was not among the delegation as he was billed to return to Maiduguri same day in the evening after a 9-day NUC Accreditation exercise in the Southwestern part of the country, the delegation comprised of Dr. S. Y. Ibrahim, a Distinguished Fellow of the Institute and Associate Professor of Public Administration, University of Maiduguri, Hajiya Hajara Usman Hassan, a Distinguished Fellow of the Institute and Director, Administration, Bursary Department, University of Maiduguri, Mr. Inuwa Dan Iliya, the Director, Training and Consultancy of the Institute and Mr. Sukana Danjuma Tusha, the Registrar and Secretary to Council of the Institute who spoke on behalf of the delegation.

The Registrar and Secretary to Council of the Institute gave a brief history of the Institute stating that the Institute of Business Diplomacy and Financial Management (IBDFM) is a Professional, Training and Research Institute registered by the Federal Government of Nigeria in line with the provisions of the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) 1990 (RC: 1435268), with the approval of the Federal Ministry of Education and with the consent of the Attorney General of the Federation. The Institute’s vision is “to produce professionals equipped with world class knowledge and skills in Business Diplomacy and Financial Management for positions of leadership and influence in Nigeria” he said.

Sukana applauded the Vice Chancellor for greatly transforming the University into a world class University through infrastructural development, thereby making research, teaching and learning more conducive. He stated that it is the track record achievements of the Vice Chancellor that prompted the decision of the Governing Council of the Institute chaired by Professor A. A. Aminu to propose a special conferment of Fellowship on the VC at a very colourful event to be held in Abuja, the Nation’s capital before the end of the year and called for a mutually beneficial relationship between the University and the Institute.

In his response, the Vice Chancellor said he was pleased to receive the IBDFM delegation particularly considering the fact that the President and Chairman of Council of the Institute and other Distinguished Fellows are from the University of Maiduguri. He said the University sees the Institute as a Partner in Progress and will collaborate with the Institute to promote professionalism in Business Diplomacy and Financial Management.

The meeting was also to ensure the success of the IBDFM training and induction program scheduled to hold in the institution for which the university has the highest number of members to be inducted.

The program was part of the progress of the Institute with the following members inducted:

Professor Yusuf Mohammad Yusuf, a Professor of Law and Dean Faculty of Law, University of Maiduguri, Dr. Mohammed Abdullahi Talle, an Associate Professor of Medicine, University of Maiduguri and renowned Consultant Cardiologist, University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, Mrs. Hauwa Yerima Adamu, a Seasoned Banker and Chartered Accountant and also the Head of Operations, Ecobank Nigeria Ltd, Maiduguri, royal born Dahiru Hammawa, the Tafida Malabu who is also a Financial Management Specialist at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, Abdullahi Usman, a Chartered Accountant and Director (Accounts and Management Information) at the Bursary Department, University of Maiduguri, Emmanuel Yakubu Usman, a Philanthropist, Entrepreneur, Health Educationist, Civil Technician, Activist and Humanitarian/Aid Worker, and the last but not the least Waindu Chamaryu Wabba, a very dynamic leader and successful Entrepreneur.
Also, fourteen Senior Members, twelve Full Members and one Graduate Member were inducted at the event.
