UNIMAID VC Bags IBDFM ICON, Fellowship Awards

Professor Aliyu Shugaba the Vice-Chancellor University of Maiduguri, would be honoured with the ICON of Excellent Diplomatic Leadership and Management Award, in addition to being conferred with the prestigious Fellow membership of the Institute of Business Diplomacy and Financial Management (IBDFM).
Speaking to newsmen, the Registrar and Secretary to Council of the Institute Mr. Sukana Danjuma Tusha Monday, revealed that the awards would be conferred during the Institute’s Mandatory Continuing Professional Development Training programme, scheduled for Saturday, August 3, 2019, at the Conference Hall of Lagos House, Central Business District, Abuja,
Sukana explained that the decision to confer these dual prestigious awards on Professor Aliyu Shugaba was reached after an extensive and weighty consideration of his sterling leadership and management qualities as demonstrated by the numerous developmental strides geared towards moving the University to a World-Class Status.
“Professor Aliyu Shugaba the Vice-Chancellor, University of Maiduguri, will not only be the first Vice-Chancellor in Nigeria to bag these prestigious awards but the first Nigerian to earn the award of ICON of Excellent Diplomatic Leadership and Management in addition to the Prestigious Fellowship award of the Institute same day, since the inception of the Institute. It is indeed an accolade and honour worthy of celebration,” Sukana said.
Sukana said that the programme, which would be the 17th edition in the series with theme: “Managing Emotions in the Workplace,” would have a prominent Politician Pharmacist Philanthropist and Entrepreneur, Dr. Mike Omotosho as the chairman of the occasion. While the President and Chairman of Council, Professor A. A. Aminu, would preside over the programme alongside other Governing Council Members and distinguished Fellows to include Mr. Dan Inuwa Iliya Director Training and Consultancy of the Institute, Barr. Dr. Shehu Gado mni and Mr. Kajo Aondohemba Emmanuel among others,
“Dr. Faajir Avanenge of the Department of Business Administration, Benue State University Makurdi who is also a Fellow of the Institute, will be the guest speaker and facilitator at the programme slated to start at 10:00am.” Sukana said.
IBDFM is a non-profit training and research Institute, established and registered as a professional body in line with the provisions of the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) 1990 with the approval of the Federal Ministry of Education and the Federal Ministry of Justice. It is currently working assiduously towards the attainment of Chartered Status at the National Assembly.
