MAUTECH Terminates Appointments Of Two Lecturers For Sexual Harassment, One Staff For Financial Indiscipline

The Governing Council of Modibbo Adama University of Technology MAUTECH, Yola has at it’s 96th regular meeting held on Thursday, 27th February, 2020, approved the termination of appointments of three senior staff of the University for involvement in acts of victimisation, sexual harassment and misappropriation of funds, which were found to be in contravention of the condition of service for staff of the Institution, the Periscope investigation can reveal.
Dr. Yakubu Bobboi and Dr. Toma Fulani Mbahi, both staff of the Department of Animal Science and Range Management, were penalised for their involvement in the victimisation and sexual harassment of one Miss C. A. Bathon, a Master student in the Department.
The appointment of Alh. Mohammed Bakari Girei of the Registry Department was also terminated for his role in the misappropriation of the University Primary School Parents/Teachers Association’s (PTA) funds to the tune of one million, one hundred and twenty thousand Naira.
The termination of the appointments was with immediate effect, Gurumpawo the Information Officer of the institution would confirm.
This came at the same day the institution gained approval by the National University Commission NUC to establish College Medical Science with a view to running MBBS and other related causes.
It is now apparent that it is no longer easy for the administrative and academic fraudsters to have a field day with impunity, in Modibbo Adamawa University of Technology MAUTECH, Yola currently in the process of being converted to conventional institution to be able to accommodate both the sciences, technology and humanity courses, with the current leadership, a university done revealed to the Periscope reporter..
Prof. Abdullahi Liman Tukur is the Vice Chancellor. He is considered to be very tough in addressing academic and administrative frauds; sex for grade is intolerable in MAUTECH.
Any staff found to be involved in any act, however highly placed, whatever professional and/or professorial a standard, lacking the character, would not be spared the sack hammer.
