EID EL KABIR: Gov Jibrilla felicitates with Muslim Faithful. Governor of Adamawa State, Sen Mohammed Umar Jibrilla felicitates with Nigerian Muslims as they join their counterparts in other parts of the world to celebrate this year’s Eid El Kabir. The Governor noted that the annual Eid celebration is a period for sacrifise, devotion to prayer, charity works, selfless love and giving cheerfully, altruism and sober reflection. A statement singed by the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Macauley Hunohashi, says Sen Jibrilla is also emphatic on the need for Nigerian Muslims to use this auspicious moment to continue to show emphaty to the poor and compassion to fellow Nigerians, irrespective of religious differences, as exemplified by the teachings of Prophet Mohammed(SAW) in the holy Quran. “Islam means peace, that is why it is incombent on all of us as muslims to continue to exibit the virtues of love and peace to every one, irrespective of creed, tribe, region and religious belief”, Sen Jibrilla said. The Governor stated that even though Nigeria is passing through some turbulent socio-political and economic times, he is full of optimism that all the current challenges are surmountable and will soon come to pass. He therefore urged Nigerians not to relent in sustaining the prevailing ambiance of peace that has pervaded the nation, noting that most of the security challenges confronting us will soon be put behind us. “I therefore urge the good people of Adamawa State to utilize this year’s Eid celebration to pray for our dear State and President Muhammadu Buhari for him to succeed in his desired quest to tackle insurgency in the North East, fight graft to a stand still, recover all looted funds, revamp our ailing economy and restore dignity in our polity”, the statement said. He also enjoined the good people of Adamawa State not to relent in prayer and support for the ruling All Progressives Congress so that President Buhari and the APC leadership in Adamawa State would consolidate on the gains of providing more expectations of good governance, in accordance with the mandate of the party and social contract with the nigerian people.
