Okorocha Dismisses SSG, Chief-of-staff, 11 Others In Mass Cabinet Purge By Musa Babakadi

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has in one fell swoop sacked 13 members of his cabinet including the secretary to the state government, George Eche, and chief-of-staff to the governor, Uche Nwosu.

The governor who announced the decision Wednesday, in a press release signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo, said that the affected appointees were contesting elective positions on the platform of the All Progressives Congress noting that their sack was to enable them pursue their political ambitions.

Others affected by the sack include; deputy chief of staff, Kingsley Uju, principal secretary to the governor Paschal Obi, Commissioner for Trade investment and commerce, Emma Ojinero, Prof. Nnamdi Obiaraeri, Information commissioner, Ngozi Njoku, Commissioner for Gender and Social Development.

Others are Joy Mbawuike, Commissioner for Market Development, Obinna Mbata, Commissioner for Finance, Dan Nworie, Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Simeon Iwunze, Special Adviser,Urban Renewal,Obinna Amagwula, Special Assistant General Duties and Betty Uzoma, Special Assistant Finance were affected equally.
