Alhaji Umar Bello Jada, popularly known as “Calculate” has emerged the gubernatorial candidate of the newly registered Alliance National Party (ANP) for 2019 election in Adamawa.
Calculate was on Friday, officially endorsed through a voice vote as the party governorship candidate by 133 delegates that participated in the primaries.
Speaking at the occasion, the State Chairman of the party, Mr Maimako Alahira, who lauded the delegates for their maturity and orderly conduct that ensured a hitch free primaries said, the party was blessed to have a popular and grassroots mobilizer as its governorship candidate.
Alahira said ANP has fielded other good candidates for the senatorial, house of representatives and house of assembly seats in the state.
In his acceptance speech, calculate thanked members of the party for the confidence reposed in him and urged them to remain steadfast in their commitment to make history in the 2019 general elections.
“The major political parties have failed. We need to embark on house to house mobilization of the electorates on our laudable development programmes for the state.
“We need to convince them on how we are going to make a difference,” calculate said.
Calculate noted that the confidence that people had in ANP has made major aspirants like Professor Mamman Tahir (SAN), and Alhaji Salihu Garba Mama among others to pick the party’s expression of interest and nomination forms to seek elective positions.
Calculate noted that the party was fielding three senatorial candidates, eight candidates for the House of Representatives and 25 members of the house of assembly in the election.
