Adamawa 2019: Aggrieved Adamawa APC Chieftains Plot Bindow’s Defeat

Governor Muhammadu Umaru Jibirilla Bindow’s may have recorded a pyrrhic victory as aggrieved chieftains of the ruling party in Adamawa state are currently plotting to ensure his defeat come 2019 general elections.

Information reaching newshawk indicated that a mainstream faction of the party has vowed to ensure the defeat of Bindow come 2019 even though the party chieftains would remain in the ruling party.

The resolution of the party chieftains was sequel to the approval and submission of Bindow’s name as the gubernatorial candidate of APC to INEC by the NWC of the party.

The party’s primaries in the state was conducted amidst rancor leading Buhari’s Inlaw Dr Mahmood Halilu Ahmed and Mallam Nuhu Ribadu to register bitter complaints against the primaries as they said it did not take place anywhere in the state.

With the declaration of Bindow as the winner of the disputed election by the electoral Committee, the battle field was shifted to Abuja where aggrieved parties made a valiant move to wrest the party’s ticket from the governor.

The move to abort governor Bindow’s victory has led to uneasy calm in the state as speculations of the governor’s impending lose of the party’s ticket looms large as the rat race and political gimmicry between the contenders lasted.

Sources in the ruling party have hinted to the newshawk that Bindow should not start exuding his victory as his traducers have vowed to ensure his defeat come 2019 general polls.

A party chieftain has confided in our reporter that even though the aggrieved stakeholders will remain in APC, they will ensure the defeat of Bindow.

“We have resolved to remain in APC but will work against Bindow’s move to succeed himself beyond 2019.

“This is a resolution we have made to teach the party a bitter lesson for accepting result of a kangaroo primaries.

“My principal would have lent his support for Bindow had primary election took place in the state even if he got only one vote. But with the kind of injustice meted to us, we have resolved to work against the governor in 2019, “the source added.
