Adamawa: Abducted Ward Head Regains Freedom For N2m Ransom


Malam Gaude Maianguwa the ward head of Wauru-Jabbe ward of Yola south local government area of Adamawa state who was kidnapped by unidentified well armed gangs on Thursday at about 2am, has finally regained his freedom in the evening of Friday and reunited with his family and community.

The Periscope Global Publishers Investigate would reveal that the two alleged criminals earlier reporting having been arrested, denied that they were party to the kidnapping. They were mere thieves rather than kidnappers, they argued.

The kidnappers were said to have earlier demanded for four million naira before they could get to release the ward head.

However, the kidnappers were said to have been beaten down in the bargain to have settled for two million natural for ransom.

The members of the family and the Wauru-Jabbe community were grateful to the Almighty God for reuniting them with their ward head.

“This incidence is becoming worrisome. We no longer feel safe. You can imagine the group of armed kidnapper-gangs, cordoning a village that is just few kilometers from the city, with the mission to abduct a ward head for ransom. It’s rather unfortunate.

“Government must come to our aid to ensure security of our lives and properties. We should not be visited only in times of political needs and left abandoned to be prey to thieves, armed robbers and kidnapper gangs,” one of the community elders who would rather remain anonymous lamented.
