Monarchy In Maiha: Idi Appeals Against Court Order
Yarima Wakili known as Idi the governor Bindow erroneously appointed district head of Jalingo-Maiha Adamawa state, whom a Yola high court dethroned in an unappealable judgement, has challenged the court order, which restrained him from parading himself as a district head and that which ordered the governor of Adamawa to approve the appointment of Barr. Mahmud Abubakar the plaintiff as the legitimate district head of Jalingo-Maiha.
It could be recalled that the News Agency of Nigeria, has in July, reported that Mahmud Abubakar (Plaintiff) had dragged the Adamawa governor, the Mubi Emirate Council, Yarima Wakili and the Attorney General of the state as 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th defendants, respectively, over the appointment of Mr Wakili as the district head of Jalingo-Maiha in Maiha Local Government Area.
A Yola High Court presided by Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman voided the appointment of the District Head of Jalingo-Maiha, Yarima Wakili, by the State Government.
The court ordered the state governor, Jibrilla Bindow, to approve Mahmud Abubakar, whose name was earlier forwarded to him for approval by Mubi Emirate Council as the selected traditional ruler.
In her Judgment, Justice Abdulrahman said the plaintiff has proven that he was eligible and was duly selected among other applicants for the district head stool by village heads in Maiha, who conducted the selection exercise under the supervision of representatives from Mubi Emirate Council.
“That the approval of the 3rd defendant by the governor of Adamawa State as the district head of Jalingo-Maiha district, Maiha Local Government Area who was not the person recommended by the 2nd defendant is wrongful, illegal, null and void.
“That the plaintiff whose name was forwarded to the Governor of Adamawa State for approval by the 2nd defendant, is the proper person to be approved for appointment as the district head of Jalingo-Maiha District.
“It is hereby ordered that the Governor of Adamawa State (1st defendant) should approve the plaintiff as the proper person for appointment as District Head of Jalingo-Maiha District.
“An order of perpetual injunction is hereby given, restraining the 3rd defendant from parading himself as district head of Jalingo-Maiha District, Maiha Local Government Area of Adamawa State,” the court ruled.
However, about five months after the ruling, governor Bindow could not honour the court order and this was said to have opened a window for Yarima Wakili to be in romance with the contempt of court.
Yarima Wakili, the Periscope Global Investigate would reveal, was said to be conspiratorially told to file an appeal against Justice Hasfat’s judgement when the previous conspiracies failed to take the imposter back to the stool not meant for the overambitious.
“Idi, against security order, visited Maiha with his escort, after a reception in honour of the DG Law School, which was held in Mubi.
“The reason for Idi’s visit to Maiha was to be able to attend the commissioning ceremony of the houses built for the IDPs.
“The houses were to be commissioned by governor Bindow represented by deputy governor Babale. There were rumours that the thugs from village around, were organised to act the solidarity script in honour of the imposter as the legitimate district head of Jalingo-Maiha. The thugs were to lambaste and lampoon, were to catastrophically catapult and castigate by declaring the judge, the judgement and court as corrupted and the court order as being rude to the governor,” the anonymous said.
The periscope Global Investigate has however sought to have the input from Yarima Wakili Unman Idi, his line was however not going through.
Barr. Mahmud Abubakar the approved but the governor yet to be endorsed district head, has however declined to make any comment since the case was subjected to the court of appeal.
