IMWON Brings Succour To Orphan Students

The Faith Based Organisation known as the Initiative for Muslim Women in Nigeria IMWON Adamawa state chapter has assisted 30 orphans in Jimeta metropolis of Yola North local government area of Adamawa state with school bags, exercise books and other learning aids.
Presenting the materials to the beneficiaries at Capital School Jimeta, the state amirah of the association Hajiya Asmau Aliyu Abubakar said the intervention in orphan education by means of donation, was part of the activities of the association.
“It’s part of the association’s social responsibility to assist orphans and vulnerable children in the society. We feel that the educational materials will assist the orphans who are in their primary schools to pursue their education with ease,” The Ameerah said.
The FBO has called on the Muslim ummah to assist the orphans to enable them feel a sense of belonging.
The group lamented that the number of orphans were on the increase on daily basis due to looming crises and insecurities associated with abductions and insurgency. noting that majority of the orphans were from poor family background, expressing concern that some of the wealthy individuals in the society were shying away from providing succour to the orphans.
The Amirah has however reminded Muslims on the benefits of assisting orphans, saying it was not their wish to be without parents. The fate could happen to any child. She stressed the need for people to extend hands of fellowship to the orphans.
The beneficiaries interviewed, expressed satisfaction with the gesture. They prayed that Allah SWT would reward the IMWON and those who assisted them with other means of livelihood.
