Elites Made In Unimaid And The Unity Walk Campaign

The elites under the aegis of The University of Maiduguri Alumni Association UMAA, has inaugurated a nationwide Unity Walk Campaign in the entire states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory Saturday.
University of Maiduguri is about forty three years old.
in Yola Adamawa State, the Unity Walk earlier scheduled to start from 6:30am was however, kicked started at exactly 7am.
Addressing the UMAA members,
Prof. Abubakar Abba Tahir the President Adamawa state chapter, quoting a Vice Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri prided that one has to be in Unimaid to be made.
Tahir explained that the Unity Walk Campaign was aimed at reuniting graduates of the University with the aim of giving to the community and the institution: the Unimaid where they were being made.
Tahir explained that the Unity Walk would cover about five kilometres with the take-off point from 80-Units Junction the western end of Abdullahi Bashir Way, Dou-Girei, passing through Kashim Ibrahim Way and would be terminated at the Cow Roundabout by the Benue River Bank, Jimeta.
In his remarks, the sponsor of the exercise: sweating for unity, the SSG Adamawa State Dr. Umar Bindir said over 80% of the public servants were graduates from tertiary institutions; either from Polytechnics or Universities. Adding that of the 80%, about 60% of the public servants in Adamawa state were products of Unimaid, making them proud of being part of the UMAA.
Bindir has however lamented the unfortunate situation, which challenged, peace, unity and mutual coexistence Adamawa state found itself. A challenge that must be worked on as part of the UMAA objectives.
Bindir extended the goodwill message of governor Bindow of Adamawa state, who technically, Bindir said, was an alumnu for gaining admission into the University before being flown abroad for tertiary knowledge, wishing a hitch free Unity Walk as a metaphor to a work on unity of the state and country
Corroborating, the Head of Service Adamawa state Dr. Edgar Amos, said that in giving back to where they were intellectually Unimaid made, the alumni would have to start by concentrating on the immediate community that was summarily ravaged by disharmony and acrimony. The Periscope Global Investigate would however report that the Unity Walk was eventually terminated at Governor Bindow’s house about half and one kilometre to the targeted destination, when the governor came out to address the UMAA, commending the good spirit of UMAA and the good intentions associated with the exercise.
