Former Vice President and presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has finally signed the 2019 General Elections Peace Accord.

Atiku signed the document in the full glare of members of the Peace Committee headed by a former Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar (rtd), in Abuja on Wednesday.

He was accompanied to the ceremony by the National Chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus and other party stalwarts.

President Muhammadu Buhari had on Tuesday alongside over 68 other presidential candidates while signing the peace agreement assured that he would uphold the highest standard of conduct and ensure a peaceful 2018 election.

The Peace Accord was an undertaking by all the presidential candidates to ensure peaceful and rancour-free campaigns before, during and after the 2019 general elections.
