The Adamawa high court sitting in Yola Friday, to pass judgement on the constitutional legitimacy of the gubernatorial election in Adamawa state has squashed the case for lacking merit.

Justice Abdulazeez Waziri of Yola High Court, Friday, dismissed a case brought before before him by the candidate of the Movement for the Restoration and Defence of Democracy (MRDD), Eric Theman for lack of proof.

Delivering the judgement, Waziri said Eric Theman has not tendered any proof to show that the logo of his party was omitted on the the ballot paper hence dismissing the case.

Theman has approached the court after INEC declared the outcome of the March 9, 2019 gubernatorial election inconclusive praying the court to nullify the election because of non inclusion of his party logo.

As it is, Rt. Hon Umaru Ahmadu Fintiri, is the elected governor of Adamawa state

the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Thursday, announced the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, as Adamawa governor elect.

Fintiri, in his victory remarks, has promised to implement the new minimum wage as his first priority, immediately after having sworn in as the governor of Adamawa state.

Fintiri made the promise while responding to newsmen shortly after INEC declared him the winner of the just concluded governorship rerun election, adding that he would rejuvenate the civil service for effective service delivery to the people.

“We will give attention to the civil service. We will make sure that we turn them around and we make them more productive and more effective to deliver the programmes and policies of government.

“Secondly, I will first as a priority ensure implementation of new minimum wage since the president has signed it into law so that we don’t have incidences of strikes,” he said.

Finriri thanked the people of Adamawa state for for entrusting to him the mandate be promised to promote not to betray, assuring that he would deliver all the campaign promises and manifestos of the party to the good people in good time.

“We give glory to God. This victory is long awaited by the good people of the state. They have given their mandate and God has activated it today.

“We will ensure that all our campaign promises and manifestos are delivered in good time so that the state can move forward once again.

“We will ensure turning around the state particularly, at ensuring the poor masses of the state get their stakes from the government of Adamawa State,” he said.

Fintiri also promised the youth a good deal during his administration and vowed to change their fortunes for the better in no distant time.

“I will ensure the youth get better education. Particularly, in the area of job creation, vocational training and scholarship.

“We will ensure their parents don’t pay WAEC and NECO fees any longer. We will ensure that medical students get support from the government so that they can read with ease,” he said.

The Periscope Global reporting politics, would reveal that there were jubilations across the state, echoing Baba Maimangoro’s slogan against “Bindow clueless leadership”, which was launched in Maiha; “O jippa tan,” crudely interpreted as “he must just go” typically of “otoge” enough is enough against Senate President Saraki in Kwara.
