The death has been announced of Dr. Yahaya Saidu Alkali Consultant Paediatrician with the Federal Teaching Hospital, FTH Gombe the Jewel in the Savannah, northeast Nigeria.
The information sent to the Periscope from the Public Relations Department of the health facility, revealed that Alkali died after a brief ilness at Nizameye Hospital, Abuja in the early hours of Tuesday 5th November, 2019.
The faithful, diligent and committed person who dedicated himself to selfless service to humanity with integrity, Dr. Alkali was appointed Chief Medical Director CMD of the FTH Gombe on November 9, 2018, barely a year ago.
Members of staff and management of the FTH Gombe are subjected to mourning the death of a painfully missing colleague, that they said has exposed a wide gab in management, administration and clinical services.
Dr. Alkali is survived by a wife Hajiya Zariyatu a daughter to Late Alh Abubakar Habu Hashidu (the first civilian Governor of Gombe State) with many children.
May Allah SWT forgive his shortcomings, reward his good deeds and bless him with Jannatul Firdaus.
May the parents, family and friends he has left behind have fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
