ADAMAWA: ADSIEC clears 51 for LGC polls to hold December 7

The Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) has cleared all the 51 candidates contesting chairmanship position, fielded by 6 political parties, preparatory to the Local Government Councils Elections scheduled to take place in Adamawa State, Northeast Nigeria.

December 7, 2019 has finally been fixed by the electoral body for the conduct of the Local Government Councils Elections across the 21 LGAs in the state.

14 political parties are expected to slug it out during the polls. However, only 6 parties have fielded both the chairmanship and councillorship candidates.

The following are the political parties for the chairmanship and councillorship race;

Action Alliance AA,
African Democratic Congress ADC, All Progressive Congress APC, Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Social Democratic Party SDP Movement for the Restoration and Defence of Democracy MRDD

Other 8 political parties only fielded councillorship candidates. These are;

Progressives Grand Alliance APGA, Peoples Party of Nigeria PPN Alliance for Social Democrat ASD Kowa Party
Young Progressiveness Party YPP Peoples Redemption Party PRP Allied Progressives Movement APM

The local governments where political parties fielded candidates for the chairmanshio position are;

AA (Mubi North)
ADC (Ganye, Gombi, Numan, Shelleng and Yola North)
SDP (Numan and Guyuk)
MRDD (Hong),
APC (21 LGAs)
PDP (21 LGAs)
