Adamawa: Gov Fintiri Appoints New Medical Director State Specialist Hospital

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state, has approved the appointment of Dr. Dauda wadinga as the new Medical Director of the Yola specialist hospital.

In a press statement sent to the Periscope Thursday, Director-General Media and Communications to the governor, Mr. Solomon Kumanga said the appointment was with immediate effect.

Before the appointment, Dr. Dauda wadinga was a consultant general surgeon and Head of General Surgery Department, Federal Medical Centre FMC Yola.

The members of public have commended the Adamawa State Governor for what they considered as worthy appointment, having a consultant as medical director of a state health facility.

The appointments of the staff of FMC Yola by Governor Fintiri depicts the synergy between Adamawa state government and the Federal health facility.

Recall that the Commissioner of Health Prof Abdullahi Isa was a staff of FMC Yola. Dr Batulu Isa who is retained as the chairperson Adamawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency was a staff of FMC Yola. Dr LB Gundiri who is retained as in charge TB Control Adamawa state was also from FMC Yola.

The synergy, a political analyst Usman Bello observed, would enhance expertise, effective and efficient healthcare service.

“Adamawa state specialist hospital that is constrained of medical doctors can now benefit from the services of doctors from FMC Yola even on locum, with this development,” Bello said.

Hailed from Hildi, Hong local government, Adamawa State, the Consultant Surgeon Dr. Dauda Wadinga wears the face of humanity, which defines his philanthropic gestures.

Apart from being part of the contributors and active participants in fund raising to procure millions of naira worth of medical items for patients and victims of insecurity occasioned by Boko Haram insurgency in Hong and environs, Dr Wadinga was among the progressive men of conscience in the struggle to have a medical outreach established in Hong cottage hospital; a prerequisite to having FMC Yola upgraded to a teaching hospital.

Based on these and other achievements and memberships involvement so numerous to mention, Dr Wadinga won the Periscope 2017 Humanitarian Award.
