CAN urges Buhari to sack security chiefs over rising insecurity

Nigerian Christians have again reiterated their call on president Muhammadu Buhari to relieve the security chiefs of their duties following spate of rising insecurity in the country.

The call, came on the heels of the beheading of CAN chairman of Michika local government area of Adamawa State, Rev. Lawal Indimi by members of the dreaded insurgent group.

CAN President Samson Ayokunle, told newsmen yesterday in Abuja that it was wrong for the president to still keep the service chief in view of their alleged failure to address the rising insecurity in the country.

Ayokunle declared January 31 to February 2 as days for special fasting and prayers for Nigeria.

Apart from the Boko Haram insurgency bedevilling the North-east, Nigeria is currently facing its worst social unrest as people are being killed, maimed or abducted by bandits on daily basis across the country.
