Fintiri inaugurates Adamawa Pilgrims Welfare Board members

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state Friday, inaugurated the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board members, at the banquet hall of the government house in Yola, Adamawa state northeast Nigeria.

Fintiri said that government has the responsibility of restructuring the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board and other institutions in the state with a view to correcting the anomalies hitherto experienced.

Fintiri charged the inaugurated board members to be steadfast and diligent in surmounting the challenges associated with the irregularities that characterised the previous hajj operations in the state.

The governor reminded the inaugurated that their attention was needed more than ever before in handling the statutory responsibility of organising and administering hitch free Hajj operations from Adamawa to Saudi Arabia.

Governor Umaru Fintiri revealed that the occasion came at a time when concerted efforts are being geared towards repositioning relevant government mechanisms for effective service delivery to the citizenry.

Fintiri has solicited for the cooperation of individuals and the entire relevant stakeholders in order to achieve the desired objectives for which the board was established, adding that he would do to his utmost ensuring the welfare of Pilgrims in the state was achieved.

The governor reiterated that the commitment of the present administration in providing a level playing ground for all citizens in the state, irrespective of ethnic, religious, social or political affiliation. He congratulated members for their appointment.

Responding on behalf of the inaugurated Board members, the Chairman, Alhaji Aliyu Usman Marafa thanked the Governor for the confidence reposed in them. He promised that they would work in tandem with the policy and programmes of the Fintiri led administration in order to ensure a hitch free Hajj operations in the state.

The event was attended by the Deputy Governor Chief Crowther Seth, Secretary to the State Government, Malam Bashir Ahmad and Chief of Staff Government House Yola Professor Maxwell Gidado, among other senior government officials.
