Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa tate Friday, approved the appointment of Professor Kalatepwa Farauta as substantive Vice Chancellor of Adamawa State university ADSUEB Mubi..
Farauta, the first and only female VC of ADSUEB and the first and only VC from the southern senatorial zone of the state as been serving in her capacity as the acting vice chancellor of the state university appointment by former governor Bindow, retained and eventually reinstated by the present governor Fintiri.
In a press release issued by governor’s press secretary Humwashi Wonosikou, Farauta contested the position alongside 25 others out of which three top contenders, with Farauta; one among the four females that contested the position emerged.
Wonosikou said that the position favoured Farauta owing to her wealth of experience for many years as a teacher and in education management, having served as commissioner of education and chairman of the state Universal Basic Education Board.
Governor Fintiri challenged Professor Farauta the new Vice Chancellor to reposition the state university in line with the government’s aspirations.
