NUC Grants Approval For MAUTECH To Run MBBS

The National University Commission NUC, has approved the establishment of full-time mode of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) undergraduate programme, to be run in the Main Campus of the Modibbo Adama University of Technology MAUTECH, Yola with effect from the 2020/2021 academic session

The approval for the establishment of Medical Science in MAUTECH Yola was contained in a letter, dated February 27, 2020, written to the Vice-Chancellor of the university from the office of the Executive Secretary, NUC.

NUC has charged MAUTECH to provide adequate human and material resources for the development and growth of the approved full-time mode of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) undergraduate programme.

RE: REQUEST FOR APPROVAL LETTER FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF MEDICAL SCIENCES AND REINSTATEMENT OF DELISTED COURSES

Please refer to your letter MAUTECH/VC/2 dated January, 2020 on the above subject

I am directed to inform the Vice-Chancellor that the Executive Secretary has considered and approved the establishment of full-time mode of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) undergraduate programme, to be run in the Main Campus of the University with effect from the 2020/2021 academic session.

I am to add that the approval does not cover the part-time mode of delivery of the programme. This programme shall bear only the approval title and the nomenclature and any change will require the approval of the Commission. The University is enjoined to provide adequate human and material resources for the development and growth of the approved programme.

Furthermore, MAUTECH is requested to stay in action on reinstating the delisted programmes, pending the conclusion of the process for conversion of the University to a conventional one
