Nassarawa governor, Emirs visit Sanusi in Awe

The Periscope reporter

Malam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai of Kaduna state was the first governor to visit the deposed Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II currently under house arrest, in Awe, Nassarawa State.

It would appear that Sanusi II will not be traumatised, stigmatised and/or be left lonely like a dead man in his grave.

It will appear that more governors will be visiting him, against the interest of those who felt he is an outcast, a taaboo to their system; therefore, loneliness in a remote isolated area would demean his popularity; a wrong calculation indeed.

Letters from elder statemen, human rights groups, civil society organisations, friends, family and the led will be enough to make a library.

Daily Trust reported that Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nassarawa state alongside the Emirs of Lafia and Awe who visited, have entered into a meeting with Muhammadu Sanusi.

The visitors, who arrived by 5:10 pm on Thursday were at the guest house of Awe local government chairman, in Anguwan Galadima, where Sanusi has been under house arrest since his dethronement on Monday by the Kano State Government.

Governor Sule’s visit has dispelled rumours making rounds that the deposed Emir was moved out of Awe.
