COVID-19: FTH Gombe Suspends Visiting Hours, Pegs One Relative Per Patient

The Federal Teaching Hospital, FTH Gombe Monday, suspended the visiting hours to the hospital. It has also reduced the number of patients’ relatives to one relative per patient.

This is contained in the hospital’s internal circular signed by the Director of Administration, Bala Sani Yusuf, joining the call my the federal government, as a measure to contain and prevent the spread of Coronavirus.

“Part of the measures taken by the Federal Government of Nigeria is emphasis on avoidance of crowded places, social distancing and observance of extreme personal hygiene by the citizenry.

“In pursuance of the above and in order to prevent the outbreak of the pandemic in the hospital, the management has approved the following, which takes immediate effect.

“All visits by patients’ relatives to their patients have been suspended until further notice.

“Reduction in the number of patients’ relatives stay with the patients to only one relative per patient,” the circular directed.

The circular has called on the concerned departments, members of staff, general public as well as the contracted security firm to ensure strict adherence to the the directives.
