confirmed positive case of Coronavirus in Bauchi State has rejected the isolation centre at Bauchi State Specialist hospital and returned home.
The patient, a friend to the Bauchi state governor has rejected the isolation centre due to its filthy condition, exposing the I’ll preparedness on the side of the state.
“This place is too dirty. It will add rather than control the COVID-19, I can’t stay here,” the patient said.
A source told daily Trust reporter that the 62-year-old Wuhan Virus infected left the hospital for his home in GRA as he could not be persuaded by appeals from medical personnel at the filthy, COVID-19 threatening, specialist hospital isolation centre.
Another source at the ministry of health Saturday, confirmed the incident and said that the taskforce committee on COVID-19 resolved in a meeting to relocate the patient to an acceptable rather convenient isolation centre at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (Sani Sami ward).
“the patients has eventually agreed to relocation to ATBU teaching hospital and right now an ambulance has been sent to his house to convey him back to the isolation centre,” the source said.
Commenting on the case during the daily briefings on Coronavirus in the state, the Commissioner of Health, Dr Aliyu Muhammed Maigoro, did not deny the incident, but said, “The second index is currently admitted in the hospital.”
