COVID-19: Family donates ventilator to FMC Yola

Abuja based Aminu Bello family has donated a ventilator to the Federal Medical Centre, FMC Yola, Adamawa state, northeast Nigeria, in support of the fight against COVID-19.

presenting the medical facility to the management of the health facility Tuesday, Aliyu Ahmed, representing the Bello family, disclosed that since the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic in Nigeria and in particular, in Adamawa state, the family has been taken note of the efforts of the stakeholders, directed at educating the populace and limiting the spread of the disease in the state.

“We’ve also noticed the leading role played by FMC Yola under your leadership and ably supported by your team and other well-meaning Adamawa state indigenes, placing all hands on deck, in the fight against this pandemic to flatten the curve and minimise human and economic losses.

“Such exemplary collaboration evokes a spirit of unity and solidarity in the citizens and the family joins all others in appreciating the efforts of all concerned.

“In support of the State’s continued efforts at saving lives at this time, please accept this ventilator from my family and I as we join hands and prayers with you to fight a common enemy and keep our state safe from this outbreak.

“May Allah SWT make it easy for us as we strive to win the war against the pandemic,” the Bello family said.

Responding, the Medical Director FMC Yola, Prof Auwal Muhammad Abubakar commended the philanthropic contribution of Amin Bello family and in joining the war against covid-19 pandemic.

Prof Auwal thanked the family for the donation of ventilator, which he said came at the time of most need.

Prof Auwal promised that it would be put to use for the purpose it was meant.

The Aminu Bello family donation was among the kind gestures extended to FMC Yola by philanthropic organisations with a view to contain the covid-19.
