Adamawa successfully treats all COVID-19 patients – Commissioner of health

Adamawa State has successfully treated all its COVID-19 patients, commissioner of health, Professor Abdullahi Isa has disclosed.

Isa made the revelation today at the Infectious Disease Center located at Yola specialists hospital to reveal the good news of the recovery and discharge of the patients to the people of the state.

The commissioner of health who represented the chairman of the COVID-19 containment committee and Secretary to the State Government, Bashiru Ahmed noted that all the 42 COVID-19 patients have been treated and discharged.

Isa thanked the development partners including the World Health Organization, UNICEF as well as the frontline health workers whose indefatigable commitment led to the success story.

The commissioner said the 42 survivors of COVID-19 have become the symbol of hope as they have defeated the virus.

According to him, out of the 374 samples taken, 42 have turned out positive and were successfully treated and discharged since the disease birthed in the state on April 22, 2020.

He called on the survivors to continue observing safety measures.

The Director, Public Health, ministry of health, Dr Bolki Dilli and the world Health organization’s representative, pharmacist Iya Bosa all explained that COVID-19 is real and there is the need for anyone who experience strange symptoms like dry-throat, sneezing, Lost of taste to avail himself to COVID-19 centres.

Two of the survivors who spoke under condition of anonymity emphasized that coronavirus is real but not a death sentence.

They told the people that any victim of the virus can conquer it just like they did.

The representative of the survivors equally advised the people to always observe safety measures like frequent washing of hands, observing social distancing and using of facemasks.
