Peace remains an uncompromising treasure. Rainy season is a blessing to both farmers and herdsmen. It however, if the season is not well managed, it will be a source if scandal between the farmers and the herdsmen as experiences have suggested.
In an effort to avert clashes between farmers and herdsmen, the Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adeyanju, fcd, has visited Khoh, Gereng, Tambo and Labondo villages in Girei local government area of Adamawa state and has peace and security parley with the community elders and religious leaders among other stakeholders.
The press release issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, DSP Suleiman Yahya Nguroje revealed that “the CP also met with the Hon. Chairman and District Head of Girei LGA, where they all keyed into the laudable peace and security initiative that seeks to sensitise their subjects on the need to resort to dialogue as a legal means of solving problems than taking laws into their hands.
“Consequently, the Council Chairman Hon. Juda Amisah and the District Head Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim Mustapha commended the Commissioner of Police for the laudable Initiative.
“The CP While thanking the people of Girei for their understanding, equally assured that police would not only going to be professionals, would also be sensitive in handling all cases with a view to ensuring that lives and properties are protected.
