Chairman Maiha local government, northern senatorial district, northeast Nigeria, Dr. Idi Ali Amin has felicitated with Nigerians on the occasion of Independence Day.
“Nigeria is 60 years today, we’re happily celebrating the Diamond Anniversary with hope and prayers for unity, security, peace and prosperity of our unity in diversity as an entity, as a country,” Idi said.
Idi who believes that development, progress and prosperity will only be possible with security, peace and being faithful to faith in prayers, has been proactive in addressing the issue of any form of criminality; insurgency, banditry, rape and kidnapping among others.
Few months ago, the Chairman was globally commended for initiating and hosting international peace and security summit in Maiha, which attracted the participation of delegates from the towns in Cameroon that share border with Nigeria with a view to addressing the challenges associated with kidnapping and banditry between the borders.
The objective of the security summit is laudable as it has resulted in apprehending kidnapper kingpins who hitherto terrorised Nigerian territory and ran with their victims for negotiation to their freedoms in Cameroon republic.
In a press release Thursday, a copy of which is sent to the Periscope, the Chairman Maiha local government, Dr. Idi Ali Amin on behalf of the council members and the people of Maiha, congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari with his cabinet members, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri with his cabinet members, HRH the Lamido Adamawa with his council members and the entire traditional leaders in the state and Nigerians in general, on the occasion celebrating country’s Independence Day Anniversary.
Idi has solicitation for support, cooperation and prayers to be able to surmount challenges that are inimical to progress and development.
“Leaders need prayers from subjects rather than insult and curse, to be able to deliver good governance. It is hoped that from this day we shall be praying for our leaders aright, which invariably implies praying for ourselves,” Idi said.
