ADSU VC, GL Chairs, Commissioners, Others Inducted As Fellows, Other IBDFM Memberships

The Institute of Business Diplomacy and Financial Management IBDFM Saturday, held its 28th Mandatory Continuing Professional Development Programme, Investiture of Fellowship, and Induction Ceremony in Yola, Adamawa tate, northeast Nigeria.

In his welcome address, the President and Chairman of Council of the Institute Prof. A.A Aminu who tagged the programme as “a very auspicious and special one” being the first after the government announced the gradual easing of restrictions to curb the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic, explained that IBDFM is a professional body approved by the federal ministry of education, authorised by the Attorney General of the federation and minister of Justice and incorporated under the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA), 1990

Aminu said that the Institute provides quality management training, research and consultancy services “in the fields of General Management, Business Management, Banking, Finance, Accountancy and Economics to the private and sectors.

“The Institute’s MCPD is aimed at improving, reviewing, renewing and updating the knowledge, skills and ability of all professional members and to ensure that they are in tune with latest developments in the fields of Business Diplomacy and Financial Management for optimal productivity in today’s challenging work environment.

“The theme chosen for today’s programme is ‘Developing Strategic Thinking for Organisational Effectiveness’. I must therefore commend all the new and the old members of the Institute who are here as participants to the MCPD”.

Aminu has told the newly inducted members that their professional membership certificates have strategically widened s new horizon, an expanded opportunities and that which improves their qualifications for employments, appointments and promotion purposes; gives them the right to use the following designations or acronyms after their names on their business cards, CVs, email signatures and other personal collaterals:
Fellow member – FBDFM
Senior member- SBDFM
Full member – IBDFM
Associate member – SBDFM
Graduate member – IBDFM

“It also provides you the opportunity to attend both local and international conference where you meet with world-class scholars and academics, entrepreneurs, professionals, bureaucrats and technocrats from all works of life to collaborate, find job opportunities and negotiate deals among others,” Aminu said.

The Vice Chancellor, Adamawa State University (ADSU) Mubi, Prof. Kaletapwa George Farauta,
one of the 10 recipients of the Institute’s prestigious Fellowship award was the chairman of the occasion. She thanked the governing council of the Institute and has assured that the inducted members would abide by the philosophy of the Institute.

In his presentation, Prof. Aminu the keynote speaker explained that strategic thinking is the ability to see the total enterprise, to spot trends and understand competitive landscape; to see where the business needs to go and to lead it into the future.

In his vote of thanks, the Member Governing Council and Chairman Local Organising Committee, Dr Adamu Muhammad Dodo traced the success of the programme to strategic thinking, adding that the collective undertaking has indeed paid off.

Dodo has acknowledged the contributions of both the old and the newly inducted members to the success of the programme as much as he thanked the Council of the Institute for approving Adamawa chapter to host the first post Covid-19 Institute’s activities and for approving the decoration of investiture gown on the Fellow members.
