The management of Federal Teaching Hospital, FTH Gombe is still under acting capacity one year after the death of the Chief Medical Director of blessed memory, the amiable achiever, Dr. Yahaya Saidu Alkali.
Dr Alkali, Consultant Paediatrician with the Federal Teaching Hospital, FTH Gombe the Jewel in the Savannah, northeast Nigeria died on Tuesday, November 5, 2019.
The faithful, diligent and committed professional who dedicated himself to selfless service to humanity with integrity, effective and efficient administrator who gave no room for hypocrisy, backbiting and/or backstabbing as pillars that strengthen pretended loyalty engaged by those threatened by their inefficiency among other deficiencies, Dr. Alkali was appointed Chief Medical Director CMD on November 9, 2018, barely a year before his death.
Dr Sule J. Bathnna, Consultant Physician/Endocrinologist, hitherto the
Chairman Medical Advisory Committee, CMAC of the health facility took over as Acting Chief Medical Director in November, 2019, while Dr. Yusuf Abdullahi, Consultant Pathologist replaced Bathnna as Acting CMAC.
CMD FTH Gombe could have been decided long before now but the Covid-19 could have caused the delay in the appointment. There was however the interview for the post, the Periscope investigation can reveal that hope illuminates on the path of Dr. Yusuf Abdullahi the Acting CMAC to CMD seat from the pool of popular comments within the health facility.
As we continue praying that may Allah SWT reward Dr. Alkali’s good deeds with Jannatul Firdaus, we pray that FTH Gombe will be blessed with a worthy CMD, the people’s desire and the God’s choice as we await the appointment with presidential assent.
