Below is the full text of speech delivered by the during the foundation, laying ceremony at the General Hospital Ganye on Wednesday, 9th December, 2020.

I am delighted to be here to lay the foundation for the Laboratory Complex, Paediatric Ward, Female Surgical Ward and the Theatre Complex of this important General Hospital.

There is no doubt that these are essential components to the delivery of quality health care services in a secondary health facility of this nature.

General Hospital Ganye is one of the strategically located Secondary Health Facility which has a wide catchment area in the Southern Senatorial Zone.

Besides delivering Secondary Health Care which include surgical services, this facility also provides so much desired referral services to numerous Primary Health Service Delivery Points across several LGAs in this Senatorial Zone.

Strengthening Health Service delivery at the secondary level will lead to improved quality of Health care provision in addition to strengthening the ability of the hospital to provide referral services which is required to support Primary Health Centres and Maternity which are managed by lower cadre of staff in the health care system.

As part of the efforts of this administration to strengthen health service delivery, the need to upgrade our General Hospitals cannot be overemphasized.

By laying the foundations to develop these critical parts of General Hospital Ganye, we are expanding and improving the capacity of the hospital to meet its mandate of delivering secondary Health Care services while also strengthening the referrals from other Health facilities.

This is a crucial step that will actualize our promise of improving health service delivery across Adamawa State in line with our 11-point Agenda.

This administration will continue to invest in the health sector as we strive towards achieving optimal quality of health care in Adamawa State while also advancing gradually towards Universal Health Coverage.

Let me salute our Non-Governmental Organizations for the role they are playing in Health service provision in our dear State; this complements the efforts of Government towards improving Health service delivery in Adamawa State.

Finally, I thank you for making time out to participate in this historic event.

Thank you and God Bless.
