​ADAMAWA: Police Apprehends Car Snatcher

Policemen in Adamawa state, northeast Nigeria have arrested armed criminal engaged in attacking unsuspecting motorists and snatching their vehicles.

The press release Monday, issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Sulaiman Yahaya Nguroje revealed that the 36 years old suspect, Kiya Peter, a resident of Hupuba village of Gombi LGA, has on today, Monday, January, 2021 attacked Sunday Stephen of Federal Housing Unit in Girei Local government area with dangerous weapons, causing severe injuries while snatching his 307 Peugeot leaving him in pool of blood.

The Police Directives deployed by the Ag, Commissioner of Police, DCP Samaila Dikko Shuaibu, immediately have apprehended the criminal with the stolen vehicle.

“Findings further reveals that the same suspect sometimes in April, 2015 approached one Ahmed Auwal a Homa Bus driver with Adamawa sunshine, pretending to hire his vehicle to convey some goods to Abuja.

“The suspect invited the unsuspecting driver to his house, where former killed the latter with strong iron rot, bundled the corpse inside “Ghana Must Go” bag and threw it into River Benue before he was apprehended and charged to court.

“The suspect who has been in prison then was released last year only to continue with the criminal activities.

“Meanwhile, as part of efforts at tackling criminal activities and other related offences the Ag. CP has directed thourough investigation into the circumstances that led to his release from prison and assured of ensuring justice.

“The suspect will be arraigned in court on completion of investigations. The Ag CP calls on vehicle owners/Drivers to be vigilant and report person(s) of such characters to police station close to their area of resident,’ the press release read.
