The Periscope reporter

Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani Bello has directed the immediate closure of boarding schools in four (4) local Government areas.

The Governor Wednesday, gave the directive in a state broadcast at the government house following the abduction of 27 students of Government Science College Kagara, with some staff and members of their families.

The local government affected with the closure are Rafi, Mariga, Munya and Shiroro.

Bello said all options would be implored to ensure the release of all the abducted.

Bello has however maintained that no ransom would be paid, adding that it was not the policy of the state government, to pay ransom for rescue

Bello explained that the policy was to discourage the kidnappers from using the proceeds to purchase more weapons to intensify their atrocities.
