Monarchy In Maiha: Qunut prayers And The Last Part Of Month Ramadhan

The Periscope reporter

Qunut prayers against injustice, hypocrisy, complicity to conspiracy and undue executive delay in approving the appointment of the Emirate Council selected, recommended and the courts declared district head of Jalingo-Maiha approaches the last ten days of the blessed month of Ramadhan.

In one of the last ten days lies the Night of Power (Lailatul Qadri). It is worth more than a thousand nights; a night in which all prayers are answered, annual budget is made.

Able Muslims intensify supplications and devotions throughout the last ten days of Ramadhan. The concerned youths of Jalingo-Maiha as conveners, joined by the elders have called on the participants to add more efforts; to do no evil, to hear no evil and to see no evil, to be kind, generous and live in peace without being intimidated to go beyond bound; to fully participate in Tahajjud prayers – optional/supererogatory prayers performed during the night between 1:am to 3:am – when Qunut Du’a would be observed.

The youths observed that “there is the delay in every step and every process in the making of the legitimate district head of Jalingo-Maiha.

“However, the must worrisome is the undue executive delay in approving the appointment of our district head over seven months after the Appeal Court judgement”.

The Periscope has earlier analysed that there was delay from the time the case was filed challenging governor Bindow’s obnoxious appointment before the law, as received at the High Court of Justice Adamawa state, on August 29, 2017 and the passing of judgement almost a year later, on July 13, 2018.

There was delay between the demise of the district head on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, the selection process and the recommendation of qualified candidate by the Emirate Council to the governor for approval of new district head in 2017.

There was delay between the filing of appeal challenging the High Court judgement by the Bindow appointed, court nullified candidate, on November 13, 2018 and the Appeal Court judgement delivered almost two years later, on September 25, 2020.

There was and is, the delay between the High Court judgement and the implementation of court order, which opened windows for contempt of court order to the point of anarchy.

Even though governor Fintiri has in the early period of his leadership, attempted to end the undue executive delay by directing, during the inaugural State Executive Council meeting, on Tuesday June 18, 2019 that Court Order must be honoured. He was however said to have been advised to suspend – further delay – the implementation of the Court Order pending the determination of the Appeal Court.

The implementation of the court order remains to this day suspended? delayed? ignored? even after the Appeal Court judgement delivered on September 25, 2020, which affirmed the High Court judgement.

The Queen mother had survived Courts Judgements; was satisfied that Allah SWT has answered her, along with the prayers of the entire Ummah working on the peace project; weeding the terrible thorns on the path to monarchy in Jalingo-Maiha.

The Queen Mother would however not survive the undue executive delay in approving the appointment of her lovely, caring son drilling with leadership skills to be able to succeed his father as the district head of Jalingo-Maiha. She has transited to great beyond on January 13, 2021.

The aristocracy and people of Jalingo-Maiha Maiha have celebrated the victories thrice too often: the High Court judgement of July 13, 2018; the governor’s declaration at the State Executive Council meeting of Tuesday, June 18, 2019 and the Appeal Court judgement of September 25, 2020.

Some of the aristocrats spoken to, revealed to the Periscope that there have been jubilation over and over again, which predated the coronation; the next celebration would be supplications and devotions in total submission and appreciation of the Command of Allah SWT; Who Gives power and authority to the one He so decided by His decree.

The Periscope earlier reported that “the people of Jalingo-Maiha district have been anxiously waiting for the Appeal Court determined, returned appointed district head. Barr. Mahmud Abubakar would however have to keep his return to Maiha in suspense to avoid being suspected of arrogating to himself the state executive responsibility, pending the governor’s approval of the appointment as duly directed by the courts, however long the delay would take.

“The anarchists, misfits in monarchical matters but only good at mischief, misinterpreting the strategic thinking, are said to have claimed that they are those behind the inability of the legitimate district head’s return to Maiha to be celebrated, because they would rather want another heir, to the throne than the Emirate Council selected and the courts determined.

“They are said to have claimed that they frustrated the implementation of the decision of a Yola High Court, which was delivered on July 13, 2018, adding that just as they caused the delay in the determination of the Court of Appeal for over two years, they would equally delay the implementation of the determination, which endorsed the earlier High Court delivered judgement.

Could they succeed in delaying the approval of the district head beyond two more years? The sage who argued that it would be a political miscalculation, to have the district celebrate Sallah without legitimate district head; “acting district head; the position so uncalled for, ought to exit immediately the Appeal Court judgement is delivered”.

This development, the Periscope editorial observed, raised so many questions:

“Who are the antagonistic conspiring against the legitimate district head, are they of the district?

“Why is it now that they will prefer another heir other than Mahmud the Emirate Council selected, when they initially ignored other heirs for an alien to the stool?

“Can the heirs ignore the struggles, most of them supported their brother to reclaim the stool; their birthright earlier, using executive might, taken away from them?

“Does the resistance have anything to do with the will-be scandal relating to the grazing reserve unlawfully sold and diverted the proceeds to private purse that the new Sheriff, a barrister as district head will not tolerate as alleged?”

The Qunut prayers enter Day 10, ushering the last ten days of of Ramadhan; in it lies the Night of Power; the Night of Budget and Answered Prayers. The Ummah struggle to have the blessing, hence the Tahajjud prayer, which some mosques started yesterday.
