Adamawa State Governor, Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has made a point when he called on “the rich to share their God-given wealth with the poor while celebrating Eid-El-Kabir as a hallmark of sacrifice.

The point here is, the rich and/or leaders should not give any animal that is acceptable for sacrifice, to those who can afford to buy, as much as those who are able to slaughter shouldn not share the meat as sacrifice among themselves but with the poor who could not make the sacrifice.

This is the spirit of empathy, love and convenience for peace and mutual coexistence.

The politicians should not forget the electorates in their neighborhood who could not dare the closed to be screening, security threatening gates, they should visit and/or share with poor electorates.

“The governor may be trying to change the practice that Islam itself does not encourage and that which is ignored,” a student of knowledge remarked, adding that “it’s so commendable, so thoughtful of a leader.
