* Herdsmen must tell us their kind of religion; if non Muslims, they’ll be addressed in the language the infidels understand better

The Emir of Muri, Jalingo, Taraba State, Northeast Nigeria, HRH Abbas Tafida, has issued a 30-day ultimatum to kidnapper herdsmen terrorising residents of the state to vacate forests or face extermination.

The Emir gave the ultimatum on Tuesday after Eid prayers, following rising spate of kidnappings, killings and attacks in the state by criminals suspected to be herdsmen, with some heartless chieftains and security men as collaborators.

The Emir has boldly linked Fulani herdsmen, largely to the crimes being committed in the state, and that it was high time to end the savagery.

The Emir sought to know the faith the Fulani herdsmen professed; pointing out that if they were Muslims, they should explain what kind of Islam that guaranteed their atrocities and that if they were non Muslims they would be addressed in the language the notorious infidels fully understood.

The Emir, who spoke in Hausa language, urged the leadership of Fulani herdsmen to fish out the bad eggs among them.

“Our Fulani herdsmen in the forests, you came to this state and we accepted you, why then will you betray the trust by kidnapping residents and even rapid women in our towns, villages and hamlets?

“For this souring spades of insecurity, every Fulani herdsman in this state is given 30 days ultimatum to vacate the forests.

“We are tired of having sleepless nights. The hunger in the land alone is enormous and we will not allow it to continue,” the Emir said.

The monarch declared that any person in the community found to be involved in kidnapping will be exterminated with his entire family.

The monarch has also passed a note of warning to irresponsible traditional leaders and security men who enjoyed the savage romance by means of collaboration with the criminals that community must rise against them.
