The need for private schools in Nigeria persists following government’s inability to provide basic standard facilities in public schools.
Coupled with population explosion, public schools are overwhelmed with pupils crammed in all available spaces in the classrooms.
It is not uncommon to find a class of 100 pupils. How effective will it be the teaching and learning under the described suffocating situation?
Furthermore, teachers to students ratio is the lowest in the world with most full fledged primary schools having fewer than 5 teachers.
In order to address this situation, individuals with interest in the education sector open private schools.
Joining the popular call, Dodo Academy was established in September 2020 in Yola, to provide distinct learning experience.
The management of the academy believes that all children are born creative but the environment they find themselves drives the creativity away.
So, there is a need to harness this children’s creativity for the development of the child and the greatest good for the nation.
The Academy provides a wide range of educational materials second to none in the entire northeast region.
Each child will have access to vast collection of more than 2000 books library, puzzles, hundreds of Lego blocks to unlock their creative skills, hundreds of toys, scooters & bicycles to ride on.
So that even if the pupils don’t have them at home, they can enjoy some experience at their Academy.
The personality whom the school is named after; late Grand Kadi Muhammadu Dodo, was first and foremost an educationist.
Justice Dodo of blessed memory had had the great dream of setting up an educational establishment.
Twist of fate however took him to judiciary where he would be less conspicuous to the public due to the revered nature of his job.
Despite this restriction, Dodo continued to impart knowledge both at home and at every opportunity that came his way; this included Arabic classes for adults in addition to Qur’anic lessons.

In reverence to the late educationist Muhammad Dodo, the school intends to hold a memorial lecture in Justice honour.
Dodo Academy, though a late entrant into the field and can’t be never, promises to be a pacesetter.
It blends innovation and creativity in its teaching and learning techniques. Pupils will have an exciting experience of a lifetime.
Only limited vacancy is left this first year as the academy intends to have small class numbers.
