The tween pastoralist would not submit to any defeat by means of handicap he is being fated from infancy; his hands paralysed by measles, to be reduced to begging for life. Mansir takes the courage to face the challenge of the very first verse revealed to Prophet Muhammad SAW, marking the very beginning of the last revealed religion – the search for and of knowledge.

The tween pastoralist could not use his hands but he has made the utility of his legs not just for walking but also for writing, “a skill he perfected to the admiration of many”, as Fidelis U. Idoko (PhD) the acting HOD, SM&WD with the NCNE brilliantly articulate below:

Abdullahadi is a young boy of 10 who is physically challenged. At infancy, he suffered measles that paralyzed his hands.

Determined to obtain western education, he is undeterred to confront this challenge. With paralyzed hands, little Mansir resorted to the use of his leg in writing – a skill he perfected to the admiration of many.

As part of the efforts of the National Commission for Nomadic Education (NCNE)) to assure quality education in all nomadic schools, the Commission took a learning achievement test to Mansir’s school in Tsohon Birni, Maiadua Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Mansir’s village is 15 km away from Niger Republic. He is a pastoralist who is culturally required to provide labour for the family good. As a pupil, he needs support to enable him progress in his educational pursuit. He desires to be a lawyer.

Given his age, some neuro-experts can intervene to determine if strength could be restored in his hands. Mansir needs urgent intervention to enable him maximize his potentials. His environment is not so friendly – indeed a semidesert without water and other essential facilities. He uses his leg to write and may require special education attention.

There is need for government and public spirited individuals to come to the aid of Mansir Abdullahadi to provide the necessary learning aids and conducive environment. Therefore, support Mansir’s education for an enhanced human dignity.
