HEALTHCARE: Adamawa State To Start Health Insurance Enrolment In September

Civil servants in Adamawa State will soon enjoy unconstrained access to provision of affordable and efficient healthcare delivery services as the government is set to implement Adamawa State Contributory  Health Insurance Scheme.

Directives arising from the office of the Head of Civil Service and signed by Dr. Barminus Gayus, Permanent Secretary, Establishment and Training, indicates that enrollment of civil servants and their family for the health service scheme will commence in September this year.

The information further averred that government has already commenced the deduction of a token of 5% from the basic salaries of every civil servant in the month of August 2022 “in line with Section 24 (1)(3) of the Adamawa State Contributory Health Management Agency, Law No. 18 of 2018”. The law was enacted to ensure the provision of access to affordable and efficient healthcare delivery services to workers, citizens and residents in the state.

As it is done in other developing climes, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri is poised at ensuring the provision of readily available as well as cost-effective access to good and affordable healthcare services to the people.

The Fintiri administration will be the first since the enactment of Adamawa State contributory Health Management Agency, Law No. 18 of 2018, that has adequate requirements to implement the scheme to the fullest.
