Adamawa State Police Command has assured to ensure adequate security for
Adamawa citizenry ahead of the nation’s Christmas and New Year festivities.
The Commissioner of Police Sikiru Akande revealed that adequate security measures to protect the citizens and ensure the success of activities marking the festive periods have been put in place, in addition to prevent any act capable of leading to break down of law and order before, during and after the yuletide celebrations.
A statement by the command’s image maker, SP Sulaiman Nguroje revealed that “Akande has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations to coordinate and ensure that all the Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and Operational Commanders should lead the Christmas Celebration security operation.
“They are to also ensure high level visibility policing and confidence building patrols around the church areas and venue of the celebrations, residential areas and other places of public resorts so as to prevent any infiltration by hostile elements.
“The Command, congratulates His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, the Governor of Adamawa State and the citizenry on the occasion of the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
“The CP called on citizens to go about the celebrations in the most peaceful and law abiding manner and report any suspicious person(s) around their neighborhoods to the nearest Police…”
