A university don has joined in the popular call for political consciousness against the dangerous politics aimed at ridiculing religion by deploying its services in a seeming secular political clime simply for the non performing politician to attract the one-of-us-ness-sentiment-sympathy-support.
Prof Bashir Abubakar Bashir of Modibbo Adama University, MAU Yola, Adamawa state would say that it is more hypocritically dangerous when a politician pretends to consider all religions as equal even though go contrary to the beliefs and practices of the faith he professes.
Bashir urged the politicians to maintain the principality of the particular faith they personally professed without being pretentious aim at deceit; a deceptive divide and rule that would eventually lead one to nowhere

Don’t ever make the mistake of making people around you speculate on your faith or being identified by your religion for whatever reason.
You are a Muslim, Identify yourself always as a Muslim and strictly stand by it, practice its teaching and flaunt its values wherever you are, under whatever circumstance.
Respect other people’s religions, be tolerant of your differences with them, identify and share with people of other faiths in periods of joy and sorrow because they are your brothers in humanity.
But under no circumstance whatsoever that you downplay your religious teaching to gain political or social acceptance by all.
Don’t do that, if anything, religion is a very personal attribute, it’s the relationship between you and your creator.
To others, dispense JUSTICE, TRUST, LOVE and EQUITY….
