Fintiri escapes bullets as gunmen disrupt Kogi PDP guber primary, Adamawa celebrates in prayers

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State northeast Nigeria, was among the dignitaries who escaped massacre Wednesday, when suspected sponsored gunmen invaded the venue of the Kogi State PDP primaries in the wee hours and started shooting sporadically.
The PDP leadership has assigned governor Fintiri to superintendent the conduct of the primary election as the chairman of the primaries electoral committee ahead of the governorship election in the state.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that voting had ended and sorting of votes were going on when the gunmen came to the venue at about 1:45am and started shooting from different directions.
According to report, votes in eight out of the 10 ballot boxes have already been counted and sorted out before the disruption by the gunmen.
Aspirants, delegates and others scampered for safety. The number of casualty is yet to be ascertained as at the time of filing this report.
NAN correspondent said that Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa, the Chairman of the Electoral Committee escaped the bullets of the gunmen.
The people of Adamawa State are now celebrating in prayers that Adamawa State would not record tragedy losing a governor losing a loving governor to the alleged hired political thugs.
