Adamawa State Police Command have arrested two, suspected to be kidnapper kingpins coordinating operations in Girei local government area, among other places.
The kingpins whose name is given as Aminu Jika 36 years old and Muhammad Umar 23 years old, residents of Wuro Patuji Village, Mubi North local Government were arrested on November 1, 2020 by the Operatives attached to Mubi North Division, following the report made to police over the abduction of 11-year old Boy at Sangere MAUTECH, Girei local government area, sometimes in September, 2020
The press release Monday, signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Sulaiman Yahaya Nguroje explained that the suspected kingpins “prior to their arrest, kidnapped 11-year old boy at Sangere MAUTECH, Girei local government area, demanded and collected five million as Ransom.
“Since then, the Commissioner of Police Olugbenga Adeyanju, directed for immidiate investigation and possible arrest of the culprits.
“The police haven gone extra mile, successfully apprehended the culprits, recovered Toyota Hilux, three number plates, Handsets among others.
“The suspects will be arraign before competent court for law for necessary action.
“The Command while assuring the citizens of its comitments to protecting lives and properties, enjoins residents to report any suspicious person or group around their neighbourhoods to the nearest Police Division or report same through any of the Police Command Control/Emergency numbers below:
