* Calls on officers to display high level of professionalism
The Commissioner of police Mohammed Ahmed Barde has assured the people of Adamawa state of adequate security as the nation celebrates her 61st Independence Anniversary on Friday, 1st October, 2021.
The press release Wednesday, signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Sulaiman Yahaya Nguroje revealed that “the CP has put in place adequate security measures to protect the citizens, ensure the success of all the activities lined-up for the anniversary celebration and to prevent any act capable of breaking down law and order before, during and after the celebration.
“Consequently, the CP directed Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations to coordinate and ensure all the Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Operational Commanders to lead the Independence Anniversary security operations.
“They are to also ensure high visibility and confidence boosting patrols around the venue of the celebrations, residential areas and other places of public resort to prevent any infiltration by hostile elements.
“The CP congratulated His Excellency, Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, the governor of Adamawa state and the entire people of the state on the occasion of the Independence Anniversary celebration.
“The CP called on citizens to go about the celebrations in the most peaceful and law abiding manner and report any suspicious person(s) around their neighborhoods to police”.
