– Preface to 2023 electioneering atmosphere

The coming local government elections in Adamawa state, northeast Nigeria, ahead of 2023 general elections, will to an appreciable extent, determine the strength of parties’ structures and APC – the main opposition, hitherto ruling party in the state – is considered as more strategically aware, perhaps than any other polical party in the state, considered the party’s resolve to wrestle, by reclaiming the entire leadership in the state; given as could be reason for the party’s rejection of the rather considered not only undemocratic but unconstitutional arrangement, in its politically crudest form, the transitional initiative by the ruling PDP to field in the elective posts at the entire local governments level, by appointing only her party members.
How will the ruling party at the national and the opposition at the state levels get to actualise her vision by accomplishing her mission wrestling power? This takes another story.
Meanwhile, the state organising secretary of the party, comrade Mustapha-blackcap-founder Atiku Ribadu has a while ago placed a notice inviting not just interested but capable and competent party members with the capacity to win the local government elections to express interest by obtaining nomination forms at a rather reduced fees.
The total cost of expression of interest and nomination forms for the chairmanship position is N115,000 and the councillorship is N40,000. The discount of 50% is considered to favour the female and physically challenged aspirants. Impressive?
According to the notice, payment should be made directly into the APC Adamawa chapter’s Zenith Bank PLC account number: 1013871968.
