…Maiduguri /Gamboru Ngala road to be constructed next year…
…Some cattle vendors in Adamawa are contemplating relocating to Bormo owing to the biting levy…
Borno State Governor, Prof Babagana Umara Zulum has reopened the Gamboru Cattle Market after 6 years of closure following the insurgency.
Zulum said, “with the glory of Allah and for the benefits of mankind, we reopened Gamboru Cattle Market for business”.
Zulum urged the cattle vendors and the community to cooperate with security agencies and remain law-abiding.
Zulum also assured that the construction of the Maiduguri/Gamboru Ngala road would begin next year, In Sha Allah, for easy transportation of goods and services.
Gamboru cattle market is one of the biggest in the area and it is generating revenue to the local government and the nation at large.
Neighboring Countries like, Chad and Cameroon also partake from the market activities.
Some of the cattle vendors in Adamawa who are disenchanted with the biting levy per cow said the Zulum initiative is a welcome development and that they are contemplating relocating to Bormo with their business.
“Already some of our colleagues have relocated their business to the cattle tax friendly states,” a cattle vendor would lament.
