Adamawa State police command in conjunction with the bar, the bench and other sister agencies have formed a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing the Administration of Criminal Justice Law (ACJL) in addition to designing a robust security template to address insecurity in the state.
A statement by the image maker of the state police command, SP Sulaiman Nguroje said the new strategy was developed during an interactive session between the two sides organized by the NBA ahead of its 2022 law week.
“In line with the commitment of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc(+), NPM, NEAPS, fdc, CFR, to leave a deepened legacy of Democratic system and credible electoral process in the country, the Adamawa State Police Command in honouring the invitation of the NBA Yola Branch on it 2022 law Week held an interactive session with the Bar, the Bench and other Sister Agencies where relevant issues aimed at standardizing the Administration of Criminal Justice System in the State was discussed.
“In the interactive session, a solid, standard investigation and prosecutorial procedures geared towards having a seamless process of using the Criminal justice system was established.
“Interestingly, the brainstorming session yielded positive result as relevant/workable ideas and suggestions on security of lives and properties of the citizens were brought to fore and extensively deliberated.
“Likewise, in furtherance of the command’s critical plans in actualizing harmonious working relationship between the Bar, the Bench and other Law Enforcement Agencies in the state, especially on the forth coming 2023 General Election, it designed a security template to operate within the context of our extant laws.
“It is against this backdrop that the Commissioner of Police, CP SK Akande, his Management Team and all Heads of Investigating Units of the Police Command took it upon themselves to further deepen Inter- Agency collaboration with other sister agencies towards guaranteeing Administration of Justice in the State .
“At the interactive session, the NBA Chairman Adamawa State Chapter, Barrister Hassan Maidawa, Esq, emphasized on the need to respect the rule of Law. The NBA members, the Bench and the Law Enforcement Agents to equally enhance a coordinated synergy in ensuring justice to all.
“In the same vein, the CP has tasked Police officers and other security actors not to allow their personal interest override their official interest,” the statement said.
