…Mumbara drumming plural support; is it to appease the incumbent or it is to please the in-coming governorship candidate? Which of the candidates gains genuine endorsement rather than a near reality show, in dramatic terms, reflecting Molière, dubbed the French Shakespeare?
…There’s a drawing line between the union leaders and the traders, who are for the most part, nursing the feeling of representational shortchange – Traders’ views

Two visits, two endorsements, different candidates, defined the scenes the leadership of traders acted on Monday and Wednesday this week.
The leadership of the joint traders union in Adamawa state who on Monday endorsed the APC governorship candidate, Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, a.k.a Binani has again assured the incumbent governor, Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, a.k.a Fresh Air of reelection.
The deliberation, which could be termed as traders’ Monday declaration, was indeed genuinely lively. The leadership of the traders association have individually spoken and the collective message was assuring; Literally an endorsement of mandate, following the contributions, as listed, of the APC governorship candidate, the amazing amazon Binani, to the growth of business in Adamawa state by empowering small scale traders among other interventions.
Binani did not meet the leadership of the joint traders union for campaign but to register applications. The traders do not need any campaign from Binani, the Governor-In-Waiting is synonymous to progress, development, economic empowerment, effective and efficient representation, leadership bereft of nepotism and humility that neutralises arrogance with the spirit of empathy and compassion.
Suffices to say that Binani’s visit to the leadership of traders as a body, was only to register appreciation. It would be ungrateful, she would say, if her visit would be to solicit for votes, where she acknowledged that the traders have been, without any prompting supporting her political activities and elections and they remained never to relent.
Could it be a twist of faith, a twist of choiced endorsement? Political pundits who would want to marry theory and practice in politics, with political Adamawa as a case study, would be fascinated with the development.
The same joint leadership of the traders association were at the Government House on Wednesday to register their support for Governor Fintiri’s reelection bid.
According to the Sahel Reporters “the delegation led by the sarkin kasuwan Jimeta Alh Musa Yaro while on a solidarity visit to the Governor pledged to reciprocate Fintiri’s good governance by massively mobilizing for his victory.
“The sarkin kasuwan Jimeta Alh Musa Yaro said the leadership of the market deemed it necessary to reaffirm their support for the continuity of Governor Fintiri assuring to vote PDP from top to bottom…”
Sarkin Kasuwa was not at the Monday declaration that endorsed Binani but the vice chairman Gamzaki Traders Association spoke courageously extensively, the same way it was reported his articulation on Wednesday at the government house, before Governor Fintiri.
How sincerely serious are the representatives of the traders in Adamawa state and to what extent is the confidence of those they represent, on them?
A traditionalist would figure out a “Mumbara” drum of support, the same way a theoretical dramatist would picture a Molière display about the incidents.
Mumbara is to Ganye Chiefdom a double headed drum but metaphorised to describe one who lacks sincerity; saying one thing but meaning another, which guides to the question of endorsing the opposition candidates at once, as to whether or not to appease the incumbent governor and/or whether or not to please the Governor-In-Waiting as the amazing amazon is being addressed by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Jean-Baptiste Poquelin, known by his stage name Molière, was a French playwright, actor, and poet, widely regarded as one of the greatest writers in the French language and world literature. His extant works include comedies, farces, tragicomedies, comédie-ballets, and more. See Wikipedia
Molière created a new kind of comedy. In his plays, the comic is based on a double vision that holds together opposing ideas, such as wisdom and folly or right and wrong.
He was controversial during his day, but he is now viewed as an icon of French culture.
Far from the Mumbara drum of plural supports and away from the theatrical Molière, the traders the newsmen interviewed at the Shopping Complex and the Jimeta Ultra Modern Market, as it is being referred to, would disclose that “there’s a drawing line between the leadership of the traders union and the traders as members who feel betrayed because their demands are ignored by the government under their leadership watch.
“The government failed to respond to our demand to have, however, a pedestrian passage at the Gate C that remains permanently closed, following the building of a flyover and the increase in the commodity tax, in the face of the harsh economy.
“we’d be honoured having the Governor-In-Waiting visit the markets to meet the traders than the union leadership,” the traders would say.
