…We were the most unhappy when the court condemned the process that produced Binani as a governorship candidate. We were the happiest when the higher court nullified the lower court’s judgement to return Binani to the contest, we know Fintiri must shake his pockets to buy our support…
The week before, Adamawa has recorded the politics of groups and individuals endorsements of PDP Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s reelection bid, which many a members of the different but same purposes group revealed, was a way of getting something from the Governor who hitherto has not considered social welfare or human capacity development as anything worthy of attracting support of the electorates.
On the other hand, it has been unrelenting with Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, a.k.a Binani, the APC governorship candidate, of what she knows best how with compassion to attend to the needs of the citizenry with the social welfare schemes and skills acquisition empowerment programmes for self-reliance, right from her swearing as a Senator to this day, extending beyond the constituency she represents to cover the entire state, which endeared her the supports beyond any sentiment bound.
“The continuity, or the reelection, or second term as the various endorsers would refer to their seeming deceptive endorsement exercise was not without monies coming from the Governor to break his parsimoniousness.
To be honest, the endorsements are monetary motivated and for the most part, lacking the air of sincerity even though the Matan Zumunta, hearkening to their church leadership calls, have identified the Governor as with them and liberator. The Christian youth would however ask what liberation when Jesus had finalised everything for them?
Muslims in Adamawa would not be dictated by the leadership of the Muslim Council in matters of the choice of the governorship candidate. The leadership is advised to be apolitical taking the path of the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs lest its fame reduced to shame with the growing popularity, among the Ummah, of the candidate that may seem unappealing to the Council’s leadership.
