Her Excellency, the Adamawa First Lady, Hajiya Lami Ahmadu Fintiri and the Deputy Governor, Her Excellency Prof Kaletapwa George Farauta have bagged the ICON Awards of the Institute of Business Diplomacy and Financial Management, IBDFM in recognition of their Youth and Women Economic Empowerment Initiatives, Exceptional Leadership Skills.
The First Lady, represented by the Commissioner of Information, Lady Neido Geoffrey Kafulto, is also inducted as a Fellow member of the Institute and would be personally decorated at a later date convenient, while Prof Farauta, who was represented by the HOD, Vocational Education, Modibbo Adama University, MAU Yola, Prof Iliyasu Audu, also served as Special Guest of Honour already holds a Fellow membership of the prestigious Institute.
The conferment of the Icon Awards was held on Saturday, 18th November, 2023, during the Institute’s 59th MCPD Programme Investiture of Fellowship and Induction Ceremony at the Lamido Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa Hall, College of Nursing and Midwifery Yola, Adamawa State.
Expressing appreciation, the honoured Icons, in the words of their representatives, promised to promote the Institute activities and objectives.
According to the Registrar and Secretary to Council of the Institute Mr Sukana Danjuma Tusha, “other distinguished personalities who were inducted and decorated as FELLOWS include:
i. Hajiya Aishatu Bibi Umar Rilwanu, Permanent Secretary, Adamawa State Pension Board.
ii. Mallam Abubakar Salihu Gurin, simply called Malam Sadique, Permanent Secretary and Executive Secretary/CEO, Adamawa State Muslims Pilgrims Welfare Commission
iii. Mr. Samuel Jeremond Wagereng, Ag. Executive Secretary, Post Primary Schools Management Board, Yola
iv. Alhaji Mohammed Haladu, holding the traditional title of Sardaunan Jimeta, Chief Executive Officer, Hallyways Global Link Ltd Abuja
v. Mrs. Malaina Saleh, a Seasoned Public Administrator and Chief Superintendent of Police
vi. Mohammed Abdulkadir, MD/CEO, BUYU Foundation (Micro Credit Scheme)
vii. Hashimu Suleiman Amila,Esq, Chief Registrar, Sharia Court of Appeal, Yola
Those inducted as Senior Members having been found suitably qualified are: Ajao James Olatunji (Upgraded from Full to Senior Member, Ali Sakta’an Ali, Vigo Lillian Patrick, Zahraddeen Kateri Ahmadu, Abdulganiyu Sharafadeen Iyanda and Mohammed Alhaji Abubakar.
The Full Members inducted into the Institute who are mostly PhD Students of the Modibbo Adama University, MAU Yola, are: Tortiv Terwase Sunday, Zamdayu David Mada, Aminu Kasimu, Muhammad Auwal Abdullahi, Sa’ad Abubakar, Haziel Yusuf Hassan, Dame Samuel, Abdulkarim Musa Abubakar, and Kabiru Abubakar*
The Associate Members inducted are, Sardauna Saleh (Upgraded from Graduate to Associate Member) and Philip Thomas Udo-Imeh, Ph.D,
The Graduate Members inducted are, Success Adama Sunday, Musa Adam Ibrahim, Adama Suleiman Paris, Olawuyi Taiwo Okunola and Farida Gidado Sambo.
