The Minister of Transportation, Senator Said Ahmed Alkali has charged the new Permanent Secretary posted to the ministry, Mr. Oloruntoba Olufemin to abide by the laid down financial regulations for effective and efficient service delivery to the citizenry.
The Minister gave the charge during a brief handing and taking over ceremony of the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, which took place on Monday 29th January, 2024.
According to the minister, accountability and transparency remain the cardinal principles of the Tinubu-led administration.
Senator Alkali however commended the outgoing Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani for her commitment to duty, resilience and punctuality, praying God Almighty to give her more wisdom in the discharge of her duties in her new ministry.

The minister who described transportation of goods and services as key to the socio-economic development of any nation maintained that the sound policies and programmes conceived by the present administration could be a mirage without the support of the civil servants from the top echelon down the ladder.
He further stressed the need for teamwork and collaborative effort among the teaming workers of the Ministry with a view to achieving the set goals of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Earlier speaking the outgoing PS, Dr. Magdalene Ajani expressed appreciation to the minister for creating an enabling environment for the teaming workers in the ministry, urging him to extend the gesture to her successor, Mr. Oloruntoba Olufemi.
Meanwhile, the outgoing PS has been posted to the FCDA, while the new one was posted to the Federal Ministry of Transportation from the office of the Head of Service and assumed duty.
